At approximately 0001 hrs, volunteers were alerted to a subject who had fallen down the cliffs in the Ranch Club. Upon arrival on location members were able to locate the patient at the base of the cliffs. Due to the time it would take for the volunteers to access the patient via beach access and the incoming tide, the crew from Rescue 3 utilized ropes systems and repelled down the cliffs to begin patient care. While the patient was being taken care of Zodiac 3 was deployed at the beach and sent around in order to transport the patient to the awaiting EMS unit. The patient was evaluated transported via MedEvac to a local trauma facility for further evaluation. With teamwork and care coordination the Solomons Volunteers are able to easily and safely take care of our citizens when unique situations occur. This is one of many examples where the Solomons Volunteers demonstrated extraordinary tactics in order to successfully mitigate a challenging incident.
