Solomons Volunteers were notified today that they are to receive a grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation in the award of $34,108.40. We are very excited to be selected for this award.

In 2005, the Firehouse Subs founders established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has granted more than $29.5 million to hometown heroes in 46 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, including more than $1.4 million in Ohio.

This award will go towards funding two additional Lucas devices which will be placed on our ambulances. Lucas devices are automatic chest compression devices which are used during CPR in order to deliver 100% effective compressions every time. These devices are up and coming to all ambulances and soon you will see them as prominently as you do automated external defibrillator units (AEDs).

We would like to thank Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for this award and for their commitment to public safety.
