A small plane crashed at the Chesapeake Ranch Estates Airport just before 1 pm this afternoon. Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department was on scene immediately to mitigate any hazards. EMTs assessed two patients. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Solomons was assisted by the Calvert Advanced Life Support, Calvert County Sheriff’s Department, and Maryland State Police. Solomons and the Hazardous Materials Response Team (HMRT) are standing by while the local towing company works to recover the aircraft. The FAA is investigating.
