At 1714 hrs Calvert 911 contacted Station 3 to ask to assist with getting two dogs out of a drainage ditch (culvert). Utility 3 and Truck 3 arrived at Calvert Marina on Dowell Road to find the bystanders standing at a culvert pipe. Crews quickly realized that the pipe ran under the marina and came out under the main dock about 100 ft long. Truck 3 crew split into two groups and utilizing dog treats were to get the dogs to come to the end of the culvert pipe. Both dogs were successfully rescued from the pipe, were brought back to shore and were wrapped up by the utility crew with blankets and towels before being released back to their owners. Company 6 was notified initially to respond with Squad 6 non emergency for a confined space rescue but after the dog were able to be enticed with treats were placed in service.
