At 14:08 hours on the 24th as members from the company were returning from a well deserved meal units from Solomons and surrounding companies were alerted to Commercial Box 302 at the Ruddy Duck 13200 Dowell Rd in Solomons for the building fire. Engine 31 promptly responded and advised of a working fire on the charlie side of the structure. The crew quickly went to work extinguishing the fire holding it to the the exterior of the structure with minimal extension. The call was held to Company 3 units only.Units operated for about an hour assisting the State Fire Marshal. The cause was determined to be discarded smoking materials.
