Rescue 3 Rolls On Out

Friday August 8th was a sad day for volunteers since they had to say goodbye to Rescue 3. Rescue 3 was a 1995 Freightliner which has served our community for close to 20 years. Members proudly cleanup the unit one last time and watched as Chief Ford assisted with loading it up on the flatbed. Rescue 3 will soon be replaced with a Rescue Engine which is a 2013 Rosenbaurer Commander Chasis. While members await the arrival of new Rescue Engine 3, Engine 34 will serve as the Rescue piece for the Solomons and Lusby communities so we can still provide the dedicated service we always have. While the day was a moment of reflection on how Rescue 3 served this community it is also exciting for the department in our continuous strive to move forward in the fire industry. As noted by one of our past chiefs today, the Solomons volunteers did their company proud and gave respect to the Engine today that took care of this community for so many years.
