Thirteen years ago today an event of unimaginable proportions happened here in the United States. Many lives were lost and hearts were broken. Many heroes were also made. People who risked their lives running into the chaos in the hopes to save others. Tonight the members of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department took time out of our busy schedule to gather around our memorial for a moment of silence and respect for all of our fallen heroes on this day. Led by Sergeant Franklin members reflected on where they were on this day and the many people who have passed in our department.
