Just afternoon as the crew was cleaning up from an earlier run, Calvert Control alerted units from Solomons and other surrounding companies to Area Box 311 for the working house fire. Just after Engine 33 responded Communications corrected the location to 370 Red Cloud Rd and updated caller information for 2 explosions from residence and the reports of a individual trapped. Chief 829A (PGFD) arrived to find a working fire on a 2 story split foyer with fire showing from the roof on the Charlie side. Upon arrival E33 laid a line and went to work aggressively on the interior. Interior E33 reported the bulk of fire was in the truss loft and began opening up for the lineman. The bulk of the fire knocked down within minutes of arrival. Additional arriving units assisted with hotspots and opening up. Units operated for just under 2 hours mopping up and assisting the resident with salvage of there belongings. The cause of the fire was due to discarded smoking material that extended to the home.
