Members of Solomons and volunteers of the Red Cross took time out today to hit the streets in the Drum Point community of Lusby. The theme of the day was fire prevention. Armed with smoke detectors, home safety and escape plans volunteers went door to door checking and installing detectors and spreading the prevention word. The group contacted over 100 homes and installed approximately 30 detectors. Solomons would like to thank the American Red Cross and their Volunteers for providing the detectors and literature provided by a funding grant. Solomons looks forward to a working with the American Red Cross in the near future to cover more of the first due to protect the community.
