In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month the Solomons Volunteers have traded their traditional department shirts for newly design Breast Cancer pink awareness shirts. Breast Cancer is a disease that affects millions of woman every year and Solomons Volunteers are proud to help support the funding and research to rid our world of this terrible disease. In addition to showing our pride in assisting this cause, the department will be donating $1000 to ongoing research in this field.

We would also like to remind everyone that the Annual Calvert Memorial Breast Cancer Run/Walk 5K will be held on Solomons Island on November 14th, 2015. There is still opportunity to participate in this walk to help support the cause. If you can't participate join the Solomons Volunteers on the sidelines while we provide support and cheer on our local community as they run/walk the course.
