After a busy overnight Solomons Volunteers were once again called into action. At 05:53 hours Calvert Control Center alerted Solomons and surrounding companies for the marina fire to the rear of the Lighthouse Inn on Solomons Island. Engine 31 and Fire Boat 3 responded with 10 volunteer and found a 25’ fishing vessel well involved at the dock. Engine 31’s crew quickly stretched an attack line to the dock at knock down the fire and protect surrounding exposures as Boat 3 utilized it foam capabilities to extinguish the fuel related fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and held to company 3 units only. Units operated for about 1 hour. The cause of the fire was due to an engine malfunction.
