Total Solomons Volunteers and neighboring departments gathered in Saint Leonard at Jefferson Patterson Park to conduct a rural water supply drill. The departments within the county try to conduct these drills every couple of months to ensure that the volunteers in the county are well versed on what is need when operating on a fireground where a connection to a dedicated water supply is limited. The volunteers setup hundreds of feet of supply line and relay pumpers and train for several hours. This drill was a unique one since Boat 3 was utilized and water was drafted out of the Patuxent River. These experiences are very useful and educational to our volunteers and we look forward to continuing them into the new year.
