At 1726 hrs units from Solomons and surrounding stations were alerted to the 11700 block of Mill Bridge Road in Lusby for an auto accident. While units were enroute Calvert 911 received supplemental information advising that it was going to be a ATV accident and that the patient was back on a trail about 1/2 mile back and not accessible easily. Rescue 3 and Ambulance 39 responded and arrived on the scene. The officer of Rescue 3 got a hold of a pick up truck on the scene and was able to loaded enough equipment and EMTs to proceed down a farm road to the trail access point. Once there it was determined that UTV 3 would be able to access the patient and was placed on the call. Crews hiked about 1/4 mile into the woods to find a patient with injuries needing to be sent to a nearby trauma facility. The crew in the woods notified command requesting a helicopter and to land them in the field on the farm adjacent to the trail. UTV 3 arrived on location and the patient was loaded in stokes basket and transported out to the awaiting helicopter. Crews operated on scene for approximately 40 mins before returning to service.
