Solomons Locust Inn Fire

At approximately 1115 hrs the Solmons Volunteers and surrounding countries were alerted to a commercial building fire on Solomons Island. Promptly the Solomons volunteer responded. Upon arrival on location Chief 3 confirmed a working commercial building fire and activated the second alarm bringing additional units from Saint Marys, Charles, and Calvert. The fire was brought under control within 90 minutes. Crews worked late into the night extinguishing the rest of the two alarm blaze and overhauling the overall structure. During the event three firefighters sustained minor injuries, were evaluated, transport to local facilities, and were released later that night. Volunteers operated til 0343 hrs when all were returned to service. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
