In the early morning hours of Sunday, Calvert Control sounded Area Box 311. Which alerted units from Solomons and surrounding companies to Mesquite Lane in the Chesapeake Ranch Club for smoke in a residence. Chief 3C first arriving, established the 311 Command. Engine 33 took it's postion reporting lite smoke in the residence, investigating the source. After further investigation with the TIC units found a small fire in the crawl space of the structure. The crew from Engine 33 made quick work of the fire with very minimal extention. Further investigation revealed a staple which had been driven through the wiring to the heat pump which had caused a short and lead to the fire. Chief 3C held units from Solomons, St.Leonard, to preform overhaul in the crawl space. All units cleared in just under an hour.
