At approximately 2145 hrs Calvert County communications received multiple 911 calls for a reported house on fire. Chief 7 arrived and advised of a two-story single family dwelling with fire showing from divisions 1 and 2. Engine 34 arrived soon after and assumed third due engine responsibilities, laying a second supply line into the scene, and then stretching a 2” line to the building. Meanwhile truck company 3 assumed first due truck responsibilities laddering the structure. Once ladders were placed truck 3 assisted engine company 2 with the push on the second floor. Evacuation tones later were sounded and crews exited the structure. At that time a firefighter was reported missing on the second floor. Truck 3, Chief 2B and Chief 6A immediately made a push back into the structure to locate the missing firefighter. Once located crews tactically retreated to side Alpha to regroup. The Solomon’s volunteers operated for approximately 3 hours before returning to service.
