Donna Ford has been a member of the SVRSFD since January 2009! Donna is a lifetime member and currently serves as our Recording Secretary, also on the Board of Directors. Donna is being recognised as the August Admin Officer of the Month! Donna has been a large part of our department for as long as most of our members can remember! She started as an associate member and soon began helping with the completion of our new world reports. She soon went on to be the chief assistant and worked on new world reporting, logbooks, new members orientations, and of course, aided the Chiefs with whatever they needed. Donna has served on several committees over time, including Membership, Recruitment & Retention, Sunshine, Ways-N-Means, Hall, and Open House. Her proudest role within the department is Fire Prevention/Events Coordinator. Donna is the epitome of dedication and an invaluable asset to our department in everything she does! There is never a time she is not willing to help out in any way she can, and we appreciate her more than words can express!
We asked Donna about her favorite parts of volunteering and being a member of the SVRSFD, and this is what she said!

“ I love instructing our students and community all about Fire Prevention and what to do in case of an emergency. My favorite title within the department is being one of the stations Momma’s and Nonna (Mom Mom). I truly consider all the members of the department part of my family. I absolutely love being a member of Solomons Volunteer Rescue Department & Fire Department.”

We are so unbelievably lucky to have Donna as a member of the SVRSFD and a part of our family every day!
