Michelle Schooley has been a member of the SVRSFD since 2016. Michelle has held numerous officer positions during her tenure as a member, including EMS Chief, EMS Captain, and Lieutenant. Michelle is being recognized as the Officer of the Month for December! Michelle holds numerous certifications, including firefighter, EMT, and ambulance driver. Michelle can be found around the station running calls, leading drills, and teaching new members about the ambulance and other apparatus. Michelle has always been a leader among our younger members and helps everyone around her learn new skills and become better providers for our community. Her passion for helping people and being there for others is one of the reasons she is so valuable to our organization, and we are thankful for her every day!

We asked Michelle what her favorite part of being a member of SVRSFD and a volunteer is, and this is what she said.

“I like being able to teach new members and watch them grow in the department. I also enjoy participating in community outreach events to help the community better understand what we do. I like being at Solomons because of the family feel of the department as well as the good working relationship we have with our county staff partners.”

We are grateful for all that Michelle has done for our department over the years, and we are fortunate to have her!
