| Thanks to the dedicated members of Solomons units responded to 49 calls for service in just under 72 hours. Crews from the company began thier tour early on June 29th unaware of what the day would hold. Crews managed several Fire/EMS calls throughtout the day and just when most thought a break was in sight! Calvert County was hit with some of the most severe thunderstorms in recent history. The Solomons / Lusby area was one of the hardest hit areas in the county. Many crews working, worked to see the sun rises twice in efforts to assist in the storm effort helping citizen and clearing roadways. In the days to follow the company ran many emergencies related to the storms after affects due to wide spread power outages and high temperatures. Hats off to members of Solomons in managing these calls for service. Its efforts like this the keep Calvert County the only 100% Volunteer fire service in buisness. |
