Afternoon MVA Turns Into Flyout

At 1617 hrs units from Solomons along with St. Leonard and the Medic Unit were alerted to Northbound Route 4 at the entrance to HG Trueman Rd for a reported MVA. Rescue 3 along with Ambulance 37 arrived to find a two vehicle collision with two patients for evaluation. First Due Fire: Lisa Lane

At approximately 2114 hrs units from Solomons and neighboring departments were dispatched to a working house fire on Lisa Ln in Lusby. Engine 31 arrived on location on side Alpha advising they had fire through the roof. Chief 3A arrived on scene and took command. Weekly Drill: Forceable Entry and Crosslay Deployment

Tonight members gathered to train on a variety of firefighting topics which help during responses. The night began drilling on how to enter a locked building during an known emergency. We utilized our training door which simulates a lock entryway and proceed to open it several times with and axe and haligan bar. Rescue Box in Prince Frederick

At approximately 1200 hrs as Ambulance 37 was returning from the hospital a Rescue Box is Prince Frederick was dispatched for a T-bone style accident on Route 4 in front of Applebees. Ambulance 37's crew quickly a responded to the scene to assisted the Prince Frederick crews. Ambulance 37 transported one patient with no life threatening conditions to Calvert Memorial.

Rescue 3 is a special service unit classified as a Rescue unit. This truck specializes in auto extrication and as a EMS support unit. Rescue 3 carries a full compliment of Holmatro Rescue Tools which are hydraulic tools that allow firefighters the ability to take a part a vehicle in a short amount of time freeing trapped patients.
