69th Annual Awards Banquet

On Saturday, May 4th, the Officers and Members gathered at our 69th annual awards banquet to celebrate. The night opened with a delicious dinner catered by Rita B’s Catering. After dinner, The President honored members for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service to the department. Assistant Chief Joe Ford provided an amazing speech speaking on leadership past and present.

Joint station drill

On April 25th, 2024, members from BDVFD station 9 came across the bridge w/ Rescue Engine 92 to our main station for a joint drill. Members from both stations went over airbag operations and stabilization of vehicles together as a team. If you are interested to join our station, we hold drills every Thursday night. Head on with School Bus

At 0847 hours on April 12th units from Company 3 and 7 were dispatched to a MVA involving a School Bus. Capt 3A arrived on scene to find a Head on style collision between an Occupied School Bus and a small passenger car. A total of 3 patients were assessed, with 1 Patient being transported for evaluation at the hospital. Squad 3 assisted with stabilizing the Bus for Patient removal due to the Bus ... Birthday Fire Prevention

Today, after our annual Easter breakfast that was rain soaked the skies became a bit brighter for our citizens and 1 special young birthday boy. Members of our department provided a brief fire prevention with a few toy lids and assisted with signing happy birthday to one smiling young man. Crew on Fill In Runs Working AA County Fire

At 2320 Anne Arundel County 911 alerted units to Box 9-1. Engine 11 which was staffed with 4 Solomons volunteers that were providing coverage for their annual Banquet responded from AA County Station 9 as the first due engine due to being on a transfer because other South County units were on a 2 alarm fire already. At 2017 Calvert Communications alerted Solomons and surrounding stations for smoke coming from a ceiling fan to the 11600 block of Big Bear Lane. Engine 31 and Truck 3 arrived to find a rambler on a basement with light smoke showing from the front door. Crews found a fire in a bedroom in the Charlie-Delta Quadrant. In the early afternoon hours units from Solomons when alerted to HG Trueman Road in the area of Southern Middle School for a MVA. Units from Company 3 arrived to find a single truck in the creek with the driver out.
