Boat Fire with Multiple Burn Injuries at Marina

At approx. 6:04 pm Solomons Volunteer Fire and Rescue was dispatched for a marina fire at Spring Cove Marina in Solomons, Maryland. A 38 foot cabin cruiser was fueling at the dock when an unknown source ignited the vessel. A flash fire caused injury to 10 people. 8 people have been transported to specialty center, including 3 pediatric patients. 2 were transported to the local ER for minor injuries. None of the injuries appear to be life threating. Command was terminated at 7:05 pm. Departments from Calvert and St. Mary's counties responded. The source of ignition is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall and Department of Natural Resources. Additional information will be available at the completion of this investigation.
