No Caption Brush 3 Construction (Update)

Over the last year the apparatus committee has worked with various vendors to design and develop the new Brush 3 Unit. After careful research and analysis the department awards the contract to Skeeter Brush Trucks. With the design process over the build of the unit will begin at the end of May. Within this story we will keep a running log of its construction and deployment within the department.

Honoring One of Our Own

At the April Business meeting the President and the Chief honored one of our own for his nearly 50 years of service to the department and the community. The Member is Safety Officer and Past Chief Larry Nuse. He was presented with a brass bell and Commissioner Mike Hart presented a proclamation from the county commissioners honoring his many years of dedicated service.

No Caption Squad Removes One

At the peak of rush hour on Route 4 in front of the main station, Solomons members heard a large crash to find a two car rear end collision had occurred. Crews quickly pulled up on the scene with the Squad and with both the ALS and BLS ambulances. Shed Fire

Public Information Officer Norman Rea, March 12

At approximately 1138hrs volunteers were alerted to an active shed fire on Cimarron Court in Lusby. Upon arrival on location crews found a shed fire with extension into the adjacent brush and fence. Crews utilized the Brush truck and Tanker to finish extinguishing the fire and search for any additional hotspots in the area. Crews returned to service after an hour.

At approximately 1804 hrs Boat 3 and Tanker 3 were dispatched to a reported fire at Myrtle Point Park in California, Maryland. Crews arrived on location along with Bay District and Hollywood Volunteer Fire Departments to discover a large column of smoke in the area. A sizable fire was located on the beach within the park. Pumper Tanker and Truck respond to Stove Fire

In the early afternoon crews from Solomons were toned out for a grease fire within the first due. Pumper Tanker 3 and the Truck 3 arrived on location to find a small fire in the kitchen of the residence. Crews made quick work of extinguishing the fire.
