This morning, Solomons members brought a bit of holiday cheer to many families and their children. Our annual breakfast though rain soaked provided a dry and inviting atmosphere for many family and friend to celebrate the upcoming Easter holiday. Birthday Fire Prevention

Today, after our annual Easter breakfast that was rain soaked the skies became a bit brighter for our citizens and 1 special young birthday boy. Members of our department provided a brief fire prevention with a few toy lids and assisted with signing happy birthday to one smiling young man. Crew on Fill In Runs Working AA County Fire

At 2320 Anne Arundel County 911 alerted units to Box 9-1. Engine 11 which was staffed with 4 Solomons volunteers that were providing coverage for their annual Banquet responded from AA County Station 9 as the first due engine due to being on a transfer because other South County units were on a 2 alarm fire already. One Into Creek

In the early afternoon hours units from Solomons when alerted to HG Trueman Road in the area of Southern Middle School for a MVA. Units from Company 3 arrived to find a single truck in the creek with the driver out. Start of Firefighter down Drills

On Thursday February 29th, members of company 3 began the first round of drilling on Firefighter RIT and Mayday situations. Tonight’s portion was focused on preforming CPR on a firefighter that has gone down during a working incident. Known to many as Willie, he served three departments in Calvert County, starting with the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department from 1990 to 2002, the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department from 2002 to 2008, and finally, our department from 2016 until his passing. Crews run 2nd Alarm in Chaptico

At 1045 hrs St. Mary's County 911 alerted their county units to a fire in the 36300 block of Notley Woods Lane in the Chaptico area for a basement fire. During the alarm Solomons Squad 3 was alerted to St. Mary's County for a gas leak. At 2013 hrs Calvert 911 alerted Solomons and surrounding companies to the 12700 block of Blair Road in the first due for a reported shed on fire. Crews from Solomons and St. Leonard arrived on location at the same time to find a 10x15 shed fully involved.
