Junior Firefighter Training Day

The Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department was excited to host the annual Junior Firefighter Training day put on by Calvert County Parks and Recreation. This is an annual event that is hosted by several fire departments in the county. This event is for 3 to 5-year-olds, and we had 27 kids registered. Solomons volunteers capped off a busy weekend of incidents and events by attending Solomons Island's annual blessing of the fleet in support of many mariners, their friends, and their families. Community support and training are a large part of our daily mission. At 0847 hours on April 12th units from Company 3 and 7 were dispatched to a MVA involving a School Bus. Capt 3A arrived on scene to find a Head on style collision between an Occupied School Bus and a small passenger car.
