Your Solomons Volunteers attended the south-end water supply drill on Thursday night. Engine-Tanker 3, Truck 3, and Squad 3 loaded up with 14 volunteers and headed to St. Leonard Company 7 to begin the drill. The drill included members from Co.7, Co.2, and an Officer from North Beach.

Engine Tanker and Truck Run Mutual Aid

Just shortly after 0100 hrs, the Solomons Volunteers were alerted to St Mary’s Area Box 715 for the reported house on fire. Crews quickly manned the Truck and Engine Tanker with 9 volunteers and made their way to St Mary’s. At 1806 hours Engine Tanker 3 was dispatched to St. Mary’s County to assist with a large brush fire on Nancy Ln in California. While en route crews from Bay District VFD were able to contain the fire to a 25’x25’ area and held units currently on scene. Just after 1200 hrs Ambulance 237 was returning to quarters when a box was dropped for a single truck up an embankment that had struck a telephone pole resulting in the wires falling on top of the truck. The driver had the chance to get out of the truck as the pole was still falling. At 1100 hrs Calvert 911 sounded the box for a MVA reported serious. This brought units from Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, Solomons and Hughesville to the scene.

Today at 1322 hours Co. 3 was dispatched to Area Box 3-10 in the 1000 Block of San Angelo Dr for the report of a possible oven fire. Engine 31, Engine Tanker 3, and Truck 3 responded as well as Captain 3A and Chief 3A. Captain 3A arrived on scene to find a 2 story single Family with nothing evident. Daytime Crews Stay Busy With Back To Back MVA's

Safety Officer Brian Bowen, July 18

Crews at the station stayed busy Thursday with back to back MVA's. The first was dispatched at 1351 to the parking area of 12100 block of HG Trueman Road. Safety 3a (Bowen) arrived on the scene and established command with a single SUV into a light pole with all occupants out of the car. Crews from Solomons evaluated multiple subjects and cleared with refusals.
