Solomons Participates in Woman's Health Expo

Today the Solomons Volunteers participated in the 7th Annual Woman's Expo that is used to promote healthy living and life styles for woman in Calvert County. Today we were teaching the importance the need to know CPR within your community. Earlier this year the Solomons Volunteers awarded the contract for the construction of Ambulance 37 back to Horton for the construction of the apparatus. This week marks several significant construction milestones which were document in recent reports from Horton to include the construction of the body and final painting.

2022 Southern Maryland Parade

Today the Solomons Volunteers shined up the trucks and headed down to Bay District to participate in the annual Southern Maryland Fireman's Convention. This is the first time this convention and parade was held in person since the start of the pandemic. At approximately 0400 hrs the Solomons Volunteers were alerted to a mutual aide response to Saint Marys for the reported active apartment fire. Promptly Truck 3 and Ambulance 39 responded to the alarm. Once arrived on scene units were initially place in staging to awaiting orders. Busy Station Afternoon

Today began a busy day for the Solomons Volunteers. After clearing the early morning bus accident this morning the Solomons Vounteers were hit hard with a long stretch of EMS calls in the afternoon. Beginning at 1630 hrs and continuing for over 6 hours the Solomons Volunteers were alerted to 10+ calls for service. No Caption School Bus Accident

Public Information Officer Norman Rea, April 25

At approximately 0830 hrs the Solomons volunteers were alerted to an MVA on Solomons Island involving a school bus. The volunteers quickly manned the pieces and responded to the scene. Upon arrival it was found that the school bus was rear ended by another vehicle. All patients were quickly assessed and assigned to awaiting EMS for transport and refusal. Lawn Mower Fire

Public Information Officer Norman Rea, April 24

At approximately 1100 hrs the Solomons Volunteers were alerted to a lawn mower fire on a trailer at the base of the Solomons Bridge. Quickly Engine 33 and Engine 31 responded to the scene. Upon arrival on scene the crew from Engine 33 quickly deployed the bumper line extinguishing the fire. Crews from both Engine 33 and 31 secured and overhauled the scene reporting back to service at 1115 hrs.
