Early Morning Cut Job

At 0022 hours units from Solomons and St.Leonard were alerted by Calvert Control Center to Solomons Island Rd South and Coster Rd for a motor vehicle crash reported serious. While responding additional information was received from the Calvert Control Center and police on scene that the patients conditions were serious and immediately activate of the MSP helicopter. Units arrived to find a single vehicle that had collided with the center guard rail and a single unresponsive occupant. The crew from the Rescue Engine 3 went to work removing the roof as well as a side in order to gain access to the patient. The patient was quickly extricated and turned over to awaiting Ambulance 78 and the Medic from CALS. Trooper 7 landed at the accident scene on Rt.4 and the patient was flown to a near by trauma facility. Units assisted the Calvert County Sheriff's Officer with scene lighting for reconstruction and cleared shortly after.
