By Deputy Chief Brian Bowen
July 7, 2025

On 7/7/25 at 1306, units from Solomons were alerted to Little Cove Point Road and Foxwood Drive for the head-on MVA. Chief 3a (Hargrave) arrived seconds after dispatch to find the same with one for a check-up. The command held the Rescue Squad and Ambulance 39—units were cleared in under 10 minutes.

After units cleared the above run and pulled back into quarters at 1338, Calvert 911 alerted Solomons units to Rt. 4 and Dowell Road for the MVA involving Multiple Vehicles. Chief 3c (Bowen) pulled up as the call was being dispatched to find two vehicles, one in the median and one in the woods on the separate shoulder. Injuries were not being reported, and the call was scaled back to hold just the Rescue Squad for the cleanup of Route 4 to wash the mud off the road. Units cleared in 30 minutes after assisting the Calvert Sheriff's Office with controlling traffic.
