Let's keep the momentum going and congratulate our newest Member Spotlight, EMS Sgt. Ashley Madariaga.

Ashley started with SVRSFD as a regular member in August of 2020. Through hard work, dedication, and the ability to lead, Ashley was promoted to EMS Sgt. in March 2021.

Ashley had volunteered with Calvert Advanced Life Support as a paramedic for a few years when she decided that she wanted to give even more to the community in a different way. With that, she joined SVRSFD on the Fire Department side.

Not only did Ashley complete her Firefighter 1, she now has her EVOC, Paramedic, EMS officer 1, K9 tactical, CISM for individuals and groups, and is on her way to being a certified CPR Instructor.

Ashley has goals to keep striving to learn and grow. "You can never be too informed." She plans to do this by continuing leadership classes such as Instructor 1, and college classes to obtain her degree in Emergency Medical Services.

With learning all that she can she has an amazing passion to intern EMS and medic students. "I found I wanted to be someone the members feel they can come to. Rather for personal reasons or departmental reasons."

I think everyone can join in saying that Ashley is an amazing asset to our department educationally and someone you want to have by your side in crisis.
