Let's Spring into the season with our Member Spotlight, Lifetime Member Capt. Robbie.

Captain John E. Robinson has an astounding 59 years in the Fire Rescue Service. Capt. Robinson has spent his entire Fire and EMS career with Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. During his time with the department, Capt. Robbie spent 12 years as a Chief of the Department, budgeting and administrative Leadership, and three years experience on the Board of Directors. He has earned his spot in the Calvert County Hall of Fame and is the recipient of the Calvert County Volunteer of the Year award.

Capt. Robinson’s has dedicated his time to the department and provided memories that make the history for Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad. During his time with the department, he assisted in establishing the Mutual Aide agreement with St. Mary’s County while the bridge was being constructed. This ensured a partnership between the two counties. He was one of the original EMT’s & FireFighter to develop Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department.

It is with beyond a doubt that Captain John E. Robinson has been an asset to our department for it to be what it has become. We thank him dearly for his long dedicated service.
