Teddie Delehanty
Teddie Delehanty has been a member of SVRSFD for the past 5 years and a member in Calvert County for 11 years, with his previous department being the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department. Teddie is being recognized as May’s Officer of the month! Teddie is currently the Fire Lieutenant at SVRSFD and has also served as a sergeant. Teddie is a part of multiple committees such as buildings and grounds, fire prevention, membership, recruitment and retention, and the historical committee. Teddie is checked off to drive all in-service fire apparatus and frequently drives other members to all types of calls, as well as riding as the officer, leading members on incidents. Teddie is very passionate about learning new information to provide services to our community and to teach younger and future members. Teddie is one in a long family history of public servants in his family, including his father, sister, brothers, and other family members as well. Teddie is a very dedicated and prideful member of our SVRSFD family.
We asked Teddie what some of his favorite parts about being a volunteer and a member of SVRSFD were, and this is what he said!
“I am very grateful for the opportunity I have to serve my community as a volunteer and provide service to people in need. I love being a member of SVRSFD because they welcomed me as family, and many members here have been a part of the things I have accomplished in my volunteer service as well as my career. I have pride in this department and enjoy the opportunities I have been given to learn to be a better provider of care and protector of life and property to our community.”
We are lucky and honored to have Teddie as a member of our department, and we look forward to watching him grow in our department! |
