Kayla Taylor-Delehanty
Kayla has been a member of the SVRSFD since 2018. Kayla is being recognized as the regular member of the month for June! Kayla has held positions in our department, including EMS sergeant, chair of the recruitment and retention committee, and a member of multiple committees. Kayla can be found on a daily basis around the station, riding calls, performing check-offs, assisting others in getting cut loose on our ambulances, and leading drills with younger and newer members. Kayla is very passionate about helping those around her learn new things and helping the community we serve in any way she can. Along with her passion for serving our community and constantly gaining new knowledge, she is very passionate about taking care of our members and enjoys making as many people as possible feel welcome and a part of our Solomons family.
We asked Kayla what some of her favorite parts of volunteering and being a member of the SVRSFD were, and this is what she said!
“For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a first responder just like my family before me, and being able to help people in their time of need is the most rewarding and challenging thing I have ever done. I take pride in the fact that we take some of the worst situations a person can think of and try our best to make them better or help in any way we can. I love being a member of the SVRSFD because this department and its people have become like family. We have our good and bad days, just like any family does, but when we really need it we show up for each other. We take pride in being there for our community, and we are truly there to serve them, and for that, I will always be proud to be a member of the SVRSFD!”
We are proud to have Kayla as part of our SVRSFD family, and we look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in her future with us! |
