The Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department responded to the first area box of the year for a reported vehicle fire threatening a residence in the 11500 block of Senora Lane.

Calvert ECC dispatched Solomons and the surrounding departments to the incident. Chief 10 (Shannon) arrived on scene and confirmed three vehicles on fire in the driveway of the residence.

Engine 34 (Holzberger) arrived and deployed a handline to begin fire suppression operations, while Engine 31 (Hargrave) established a water supply for Engine 34.

With the fire controlled and no extension to the residence, Chief 10 reduced the assignment to Engines 34, 31, and 71. Unit operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.
