| The following statement has been issued in reference to siren testing today:
Emergency Management is conducting a full-cycle test of the alert and warning sirens throughout southern Calvert County today, October 1, 2012, at 12 noon. The siren test will consist of a full three minute activation and is conducted the first Monday of each calendar quarter in 2012 (January, April, July and October). We have issued a press release, provided Comcast Cable slides, and have the announcement on the County's home page. However, there may be residents in the southern portion of Calvert that are not aware of the test and may call with concerns about hearing the sirens activated. Please assure any callers that this is a test of the sirens and that it is conducted quarterly. Please also inform your call-takers about this test.
