| While thousands gathered to celebrate Independence Day, the dedicated volunteer and career members of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department and Calvert County Department of Emergency Services were hard at work, ensuring our community and visitors remained safe.
During the July 4th and 5th holiday weekend, while staffing the annual Fireworks Standby, our crews continued to answer calls throughout our normal response area. From the water to the roadways and everywhere in between, responders handled a wide variety of emergencies, including:

These calls are a reminder that holidays donโt slow down emergency services. No matter the day or time, our members remain committed to serving those who need us most.
